Pro/E tip - Solidify a Plane

Proe tip: Using a datum plane to make a cut.


Open a part.
<ul>[*]Select or create a datum plane that represents the cut you wish to make.
[*]Highlight the datum plane.
[*]Choose from the main menu.. Edit> Solidify
[*]Flip the arrow as desired by clicking on it.
[*]Done. [/list]No messy sketches with open ends hanging out.

Thats one of the first extrude cuts I learnt with pro-e. I thought it was common knowledge. Great tip though, cos I forgot about it

That is brilliant, met with a vague mmmm from the other engineers in the dept. that I am working in..... followed by "Could we use that to do all our washers?" (really not getting where my co-worker is going with that train of thought)
