text following a curve

Anyone know of a way of making text follow the internal profile of a section when in detail mode. We have a requirement where we have quite complicated internal profiles which we have to put a note to to stipulate special surface finishes etc along the whole of the section. We have been typing x-x-x along it but when it changes direction we obviously have to add a new piece of text. We then have to group the text to the view for associativity. We would like to offset the profile with a curve, then get some text to follow the curve. We cant find a way of creating a new line style with x-x-x in it, all it allows us is - and spaces.

Thanks in advance

Dear saspinall,

The drafting method for this would be to draw a curve (phantom line type) which is offset from the surface / Edge and introduce a leader text pointing to that curve. With this you need not orient the text and at the same time you would have achieved the technical need.

I hope I have understood your requirement.
