Idle Time minimising in Pocket Milling Seq.

I want guidance in minimizing the idle time in Pocket Milling Prog.

Suppose I have 3 to 4 pockets on the core box which is to be machined. If I want to machine these pockets in one prog. then I will make one volume consisting of all the pockets.

Then the cutter will go at particular z level, it will work & then it will uplift to retract plane, go for same z level in second pocket, it will work again will go to retract plane & go for third pocket & so on.. This will repeat for every depth of cut.

This will time consuming activity, what I need is that the cutter should go in to first pocket & it should work completely( upto max. depth) in that pocket & then only it should uplift & go for second pocket, work completely & then only retract & go for third one & so on.

Can any one help me to prepare a prog. which can do these things in one prog only.

Thanks.

OK , if i got your question right then its pretty easy.

Just look in build cut (its located under seq setup) . In build cut menu you can choose between by region or by slice . The sequense that your are looking for is created using by region . I hope this will be for any help for you.

Hi,

thanks for ur reply.

But I am talking about pocket Milling programe, & not volume milling. In volume milling prog the option is there but what about pocket milling prog ?

Can u help me?
