unbend part without flat

You don't have to pick a flat surface to be fixed geometry, you can also picka suitableedge.

If you want a symmetrical unfold. I suggest you model 1/2 the part. Unbend All(not flat pattern)selecting the "centre" edge and then use mirror geometry to make the second half.

Suppressing the Unbend All should give you the complete folded item.

Thanks DB. This is a import, I did #intersect (w/ datum) #copy(curve) #extrude. I would like to unbend the part (not symmetrical) parallel to die level (datum thru 2 axes). Any suggestions?

Cut it in half, unfold along new centre edge and use mirror geometry to rebuild the second half
