Ripping curved edges

SW

New member
This is probably an easy question, so excuse my stupidity, but how do you rip curved edges in Pro/E Sheetmetal?

Depends on the curve shape. If it's somewhat simple, you could uset the regular rip feature andsketch a line that rips the geometry. Example with picture below. Is this even close to your model?

Thanks,

I could do it with a sketch, but it seems a bit strange that Pro/E
can't do
this as a standard rip. I've attached an image of the edge completed
using a
thin extrude and a flat wall, but that gives me other problems (such as
closing the gap down the vertical edge in the right way).

Do you find that the sheetmetal specific Pro/E features often have limitations,
and that is better to think more in terms of more generic features?

Cheers,
