Linear to Rotational Motion

I need to translate linear motion into rotational motion. Is this
possible using Mechanism? I know it can be used for rotational to
linear using gear rack and pinion but I haven't been able to move the
rack to rotate the pinion. Ay ideas or work-arounds would be much
appreciated.

Use a cams design, proe gives you the standard movements and then you tell it that shows the curves generated as the interpolation of your movements, I make a design with this idea and works perfectly, if you want I colud help you, but I need more information about the mechanism that you want to do.

ok picture it in this way:

There is a rack laying on the ground fixed from any motion. On top of this rack sits a pinion which can roll left or right. On top of this pinion sits another rack however it is only constrained at one end with a pin joint, this pin joint is able to move vertically or horizontally, so the top movingrack may be non-parallel to the bottom fixed rack. Moving the top rack rolls the pinion on the bottom rack.

I will try to generate some kind of diagram and post it.

Thanks
