Fourbar linkage/skeleton model

Im trying to do this tutorial: http://www.staffs.ac.uk/~entdgc/
Proe2001Docs/tutorials.htm as this is the only one i have found on
skeleton models.
I have created my skeleton and the models of the bars in assembly but i
cant get the thing to move. I have wildfire 2 and cant seem to alter the
geometry of the skeleton without opening up the part file itself. I cant
seem to apply moving joints to the parts either as i dont get the edit
definition option in assembly (persumably because they were created
inside it).
Any ideas of where im going wrong?
Thanks

Not sure exactly how you are trying to get the assembly to move. I would say that the general way of getting a skeleton driven assembly to move is to modify the skeleton. In the case of a 4 bar linkage, I would suspect that there is one angular dimension that drives the whole thing. I wouldn't think that you would be able to add moving joints to components that were created in the assembly using the skeleton, because the shape and position of the part is driven by the skeleton.

If you created another assembly using the parts of the linkage, you could easily assign the moving joints to the pieces. It is kind of double work though.

hi henry

ihave a lot of experience with this sort of stuff. layouts, skeletons, copy geom, mechanisms, animations, top-down methodologies etc.

send me a private message so we can work out the best way to communicate.

althoughi have a belgian sounding username, i'm english but live in belgium.

Thanks for your responses.

The skeleton model was working i just forgot to hit the regenerate
button.

If i wanted to get this model going in mechanism i would need to apply
pin joints to the model in assembly but how do i do this if the parts where
also made in assembly? (i cant choose edit defination on the model tree).

If i arranged the parts in assembly (with the pin joints) and imported the
skeleton later, how does pro engineer know which parts of the skeleton
model correspond to the parts in assembly?
