We want to integrate our Plasma Cutting machine with Pro/Engineer.

This neither fall in Milling category nor in machining category.

Please provide guidance in this connection.

This can be done relatively easily, through the use of Pro/NC-Sheetmetal. That is a separate mfg extension from Milling, etc.
This extension allows the use of either punching or contouring applications.
Here is a link to some info on PTC's page:

You'll also need to consider a post processor for your application.
let me know if I can help further.

indigo2,

Thank you very much for reply. Can you please send me some tutorials on NC/Sheetmetal. I could not find any material on the subject except the ptc online documentation which is not sufficient for a beginner.

Thanks again.

Ilf264,

Yes its a gantry style.

I don't have a great deal of tutorials built right now, but I am looking at the demand for this. Do you think there is enough interest in this topic to justify some time to develop some?

Are there specific questions I could address in the meantime? Such as setting up the workcell, manual nesting vs. autonesting, creating sequences, lead -in -out, populating the sheet, etc...
I could also record some of these topics as a video if that would help.
I'd be interested in what format the tutorials would be preferred- video, web page, pdf, word doc, etc.
any thoughts?
Let me know how i can help.
