What do you mean by "circumfrance" patterning? Maybe post a picture.

If it is a 360 degree pattern you are asking for you must have a datum created on-the-fly to drive the increment. Otherwise the pattern fails after 180 degrees

or create the featurein on-fly datum and group itthen patternpattern the grouped feature
