Hi all,

We are looking forward to using WF2 on some new AMD x64 systems.

We've still got an occasional need to run 2001. I'm wondering if
a 64bit system running XP Pro x64 will run Pro 2001?

anybody have experience here?

thanx..

I'm running my CAD on an Athlon64-3200 system, with no issues at all. The upgrade was due to a processor failure, which forced me to exchange everything except the disks. I know I should've rebuilt the OS but because of time I just plugged in all the old harddisks. Even then it runs stable.

So 32-bit applications on a 64-bit system are no issue.

As to doing so in Win-64 I'm not that confident. Looking at the past it takes Micro$oft at least one servicepack to get stable and some more to get robust.Add ProEto this picture, which is not a native Windows application, and I have enough reasons not to get my feet wet to early.

My 32bit student version runs perfectly on my 64bit Athlon and Windows
x64. Although it obviously runs in 32bit mode but the 64bit really
helps analysis time and RAM allocation.

No probs here.

Cheers
