iges wireframe with select surfaces

Does anyone know how to export an entire part in wireframe, but only select surfaces? I'm using wildfire 2.0 release 150. I can create an Iges file with the entire wireframe. I can create an Iges file with all the surfaces. I can create an Iges file with selected surfaces and include thier wireframe edges. But I can not save the entire part as wireframe, with only one or two selected surfaces. Tech support said it is not possible. I can bring up the wireframe Iges file and "insert", "shared data", "from file" and pull up the surfaces file, so that the result I want is on my screen, but I still can not save that as an Iges or Step file.
