hi..


i have a part which has a variable thickness. Is it possible to give a surface model a variable thickness?

try using var sec sweep or blend which so ever suits your need

You will need to have inner and outer surfaces and if you can "sew it all up" to make a closed volume you can solidify it.

Hey I Feel Surface has'nt got any thickness. C the Surface definition. Pls feel free to reply.

my model is a set of surfaces.....i have already completed the model by offsetting the surfaces..but it took a lot of time........now i want to develop a faster method.


what is dr gallups way ?

Use Insert>Shared Data>Copy Geometry from Other model...

If it is a solid model


Try using shell option.....this will allow u to define various thickness to various surfaces

Not if you're planning to usea "thin" feature from your surface..

In mechanica you can give multiple thicknesses to a surface r thin feature but not variable thickness.
