how to unbend a revolved wall?

Is there a way to unbend a revolved wall feature if you dont have a flat surface reference? I have a pipe with flanged end that I need a flat pattern for...

Hi,


when you are asked for fixed geometry you could pick plane or edge!!


So you have to chose edge.Usually the one which you sketched.

it is a revolve so there is no flat plane or edge. there is a formed end but still no straight edge or flat plane that itwill accept.
 
some revolve flanges that i have done in the pasthave required bend relief

you need a rip otherwise why would you want a flat pattern

you may need to do it, using a quilt. maybe i am not understanding what you are trying to do. put a picture or a file, that way you may get more correct responds
