IGES imported surfaces

How do Iget Pro-e (Wildfire) recognize an imported IGES surface as a surface? It imports anddisplays the geometry but will not recognize it as a surface. I can create a capping surface using edges from the imported surface.I want to merge the capwith the original surface, but it will not recognize the original as a "surface" to activate the merge command.

Don't use Merge. Insteadtry Collapse Geometry. Select Import Feature > Edit Definition; Geometry (drop down menu) > Collapes Geometry.

I found it. Once I found how to get to the "heal" command it showed extra geometry that wasn't supposed to be there and that did not show in the imported surface display. When I removed that it would work with the mirror again.

Thanks - Greg
