hello everybody

i got this doubt, it is...,

i have a bolt and nut modeld in part mode and then assembeld in assembly mode

now if i changed the dia of bolt ,

how to do such that if i changed bolt's dia nut's dia should changed

shall we apply relations between bolt and nut??

and is there any other way?

help me how to do this

regards

leenus

Yes, a relation controlling the nut size based on the dimensional values of the bolt would be my choice. Depending on how you use the file you may be able to use the flexiblility function as well.

if you dont want to make a relation you can always design one of the
parts from the assembly ie the nut. then refernce the od of the bolt to
make the id of the nut.

but relation is prolly the best way.

d1:0 = d1:1

style.

i recently tried to use CID. but it failed anyone used it in wf2?

sir,puppet

i didn't get u "you can always design one of the
parts from the assembly ie the nut. then refernce the od of the bolt to
make the id of the nut."

means,we hav to go for top down design ?????

can u plzzz explain me by STEP VICE

thanking u sir

just us a relation

its the best way.

in the assembly do this

tools--->relations.

click on the id of the nut,, and dimensions like this should appear

"d5:x or d$:X" d(anything)

if they are just numbers then you need to go info-->switch dimensions

then click on the OD of the bolt

and they similar values.

then make the relation as follows

d5:0 = d3:1

where d5:0 would be the id of the nut

d3:1 would be the od of the bolt.

your numbers will be different to what ive just made up but the structure is the same.

ie ....
