Assembly

What is the difference between insert and pattern in assembly mode.in assembly we use insert if the multiple copies arise means ,we can do that in pattern.which one is good,on what way insert is more convienent than pattern in assembly?

pattern is used assemble the same component in a regular pattern. where as insert is used to assembly same or new component in any required position.

for example, if you have a round flange with patterned holes around it, you can assemble bolts using pattern in assembly. this would assembly bolts in all the holes of the flange. but if you have holes in a random order on a plate you cannot use pattern to assemble the bolts.

a reference pattern places the part of feature along the same pattern as a the parent part of feature.

ie

you have a plate with a hole patterened down the plate.

you then insert a flange in the plate (!st hole)

then u can patteren that flange as a "reference" patteren. and it
will place that flange everywhere the original hole was patterened.

you can do this with the next item aswell and so on.

ie u now want a shaft on each of them flanges. just add the flange to the hole or flange and use a reference patteren.
