BOM miscalculations?

Can someone please tell me what I'm doing wrong.

I create a new BOM output object. I right click on it and modify relationships.

I select my engine assembly and set the relationship type to BOM member.

Then when I create a BOM report I notice the quantity of some parts are doubled or tripled or more.

What is going on and is there an easier way.

I'm using Ilink 3.3 and WF2
