Hi guys, I'm planning to build myself a computer for Pro/E surfacing mainly and a bit of gaming perhaps over the x'mas. Rite, here is the list of main components on top of my head rite now and if possible, could u guys give me advise on suitability? many thx in advance.


WildCat VP880Pro or a Radeon 9700 Pro then converted to a FireGL X1-128?? or any of those PCI express type card?


2Gb PCxx00 DDR ram


two HDD's-im not sure is RAID is SCSI already nowaday. any suggestions of fastest data transfer rate mode for HDD


CPU - intel for sure but I will compromise a bit on the clock speed depends on how much i spent on the those components above.

I'm about to do the Radeon to FireGL onversion myself. I'll let you know how it turns out.

You should go with a SATA drive if you need fast transfer rates but your board will need to support it

I just completed the freefiregl upgrade to my Radeon 9700 Pro card and it rocks! It was very simple and really a great performance booster. For $130 (the ebay price for a new 9700 Pro) I now have a FireGL-X1
