Printing a PDF of a Drawing with an Embedded Image

All of our drawings go out as PDFs and sometimes we need to add jpegs or gifs to the drawings. When we distilled them as PDFs the images did not distill unless we followed the steps below.

I found this helpful since we send PDFs to our vendors:



1. Insert an image file on your drawing using INSERT > OBJECT.



2. Set Acrobat Distiller as your default printer. (This is important and the procedure will not work without this step.)



3. Print your drawing FILE > PRINT and choose MS Print Manager. (Again critical) Choose to print to a file and configure your page size as necessary.



This image that you inserted into the drawing will appear on the pdf along with the drawing.
