Part to follow gap/path WHY NOT??

Hi,

First post on here but after looking all over I can't seem
to get the pin on this bar (see attached) to follow the
groove cut into the surrounding sleeve. The only mate in
there at the moment is concentric for the bar to sleeve.

Any ideas would be great... tried making a equal 3D sketch
path to follow it but seems like a very long way round (saw
a example of a screw-ball scramble assembly).

surely I can just tell it either in the mates or the
animation section not to collide or just follow the gap cut
into the sleeve?? Or am I asking too much of it?

The gap sketch must be a SPLINE.
This sketch generate, after EXTRUDE-CUT feature, a SINGLE surface, so you can mate the... cursor (I can't find the word in english) with a TANGENT mate between the "cursor" and the surface.

Good luck !

You can use path mate option or convert the surfaces/faces
into one surface.

If you can upload the parts here, I may try to fix what you
need.
