Solved. Cutting thru a bend and unrolling

I am trying to cut through a bend, and then unroll. I've created a sheet metal tube. I am passing another tube through that one.

While in bent form on tube one, I extrude cut for the clearance hole to pass tube two. When I choose to flatten tube one, I get an ellipse, which is what I want. But, the sides are not perpendicular. Depending on the angle in relation to the center of the unbend, determines how non perpendicular it is.

I am trying to create a flat dxf for laser cutting, but am unable. Any suggestions?

This image is looking straight down on the flattened part. The ellipses are offset, and I would like them to not be.View attachment 5854

I was sure I had tried that. I might have had it checked along with "Link to thickness". In any case, your answer is producing the results I wanted. Thank you.
