optimization

Hello all,
I have a question and hope thay you can guide me to find a solution.
I created a design table with nine configurations. Each configuration has the same part in
different locations in my assembly. For this reason, i create nine different distance mates
between the same entities (i change only their distance) and i activate only one distance
mate for each configuration by suppressing all the others.
Also, i ran nine different static studies, one for each configuration.
When i select a different configuration (or study), the other studies automatically become
inactive and only one is active.
So, when i run an optimization study with constrains from all the aforementioned nine
studies, the optimization fails because only one study can be active.
How can i run an optimization study that includes all the studies for the nine
configurations i created?
Thanks in advance!

The basic idea of optimization is that

- we set design objectives (e.g. minimum weight)

- we set variable parameters & their allowable ranges (e.g. 5<Length <50)

- finally set some other constraints (e.g max stress < yield)

Since "configuration" is not a parameter, you can only run optimization for one configuration each time.
