when I do some modeling I rarely add gravity unless it is a free standing model or something large. for instance adding gravity onto a table which will be mdeled to handle a large computer or lab equipment wont change the overall results much but it is always helpful.
Remember these analysis results are always a guide and a final design should never be produced with just computer analysis. I build some things and then after some computer analysis to work out any kinks, physically build it and have a practical build.
