Simple Gravity Model

I have a model/ assembly which is basically a four legged stool sitting on a floor. If I apply simple gravity vectored perpendicular to the floor the stool falls over. I have no constraints in the model just the floor and the stool. What am I doing wrong in setting up gravity? Help much appreciated.

Use 3d contact option to simulate contact between the stool and the floor. It should work, surely!
