Re-Applying Drawing Template Changes

Is there any way to reapply changes you made to a drawing template after you have made a drawing with the old template. Our company has about 700 drawings to create, however we noticed that once we create a drawing and finish it, there is no easy way to update the title block other then going into each individual configuration of each drawing and changing them (which can also lead to inconsistent drawings). I have searched the forums and no one seems to have ever had this issue. We are hesitant to start the project until we know absolutely that the title-block and drawing configurations are perfect. Knowing that it wont be easy to change all of the title blocks later on. In pro engineer it lets you change from TB to TB very easily. But with solidworks, using the drawing template seems to be a one time deal.

Save the template into a standard directory

Goto file options - files and there direct to this directory

YosSa, I have tried that.

You may be misunderstanding the problem.

After creating a drawing with a template, we found that something was missing from the template. So we went in and changed the originaltemplate, however these changes do not automatically update on the drawing we had already created. We need to be able to update the drawing with the template changes.

Matt,

Open up a drawing with an old format, right click on the drawing or on the sheetx in the feature tree, select properties, then select reload. If your formats are in the same location, same name, just newer, they will replace the existing format on the active sheet. You might make a macro to do this as a single button push, or maybe use the task scheduler somehow to do them all at night.

Good luck ...
