assembly cutout

Hi,

I want to
make an angled cutout in an assembly.(two parts) in SW 2007

I have two
cylindrical tubes concentric in an assembly that I want to cutout in an angle.

Is there a
way to make the cutout as you would do normally if these parts were one piece?

Because of
the angle it is hard to do it in the edit part mode, and get the cutout lined
out.

Not EXACTLY.

To perform the cut in assy you define aREFERENCE PLAN (or you use an existing one). Let's name this plane RP. InRP you draw your sketch (let's name SKASSY)and perform the cut using feature EXTRUDE CUT. Afterthis action, start to editone part(in your caseone tube) (right click the piece and choose EDIT PART).Now you can perform EXTRUDE CUT feature.Definethe sketch IDENTICAL with SKASSYfor this featurein the sameplan RP and use SKETCH RELATIONS for positions and dimensions (you can copy the SKASSY - select SKASSY in the feture manager tree and CTRL+C -> select RP and CTRL+V). The rest I think you know. Repeat the steps with tube 2.

Good luck !
