Hello everybody

Can anybody tell me how to insert flat views as well as formed view of the same component in a same drawing sheet, this i can do in PROE but am not getting any solution for this problem in SOLIDWORKS_2007.

Kind Regards

Raghu

If you create a sheet metal part with a flat pattern the option for flat pattern will come up when you are in the model view dialog box. Make sure that in your sldprt file you have made a flat pattern before moving on to your drawing file.

In 2007 there should be a flyout to the right that assists you in this, but if not:

Open the model

go to FILE - MAKE DRAWING FROM PART

pick drawing template

At this piont you should get a flyout to the right... if not

TOOLS, OPTIONS, DRAWINGS, check the SHOW VIEW PALETTE

(changing this will start an auto-layout feature)

anyway, choose INSERT, DRAWING VIEW, MODEL....

on the left will be a box with your part name in it

click the blue arrow

next, in the ORIENTATION box pick the view you want and place it

once you do that, the other views will fly out as you move your mouse

there is also a "more views" section that will carry the flat pattern.

I hope this helps.
