Can we use unfold to design a 14’ V hull

Hi All:

I am still learning the basics of SW, but I have always wanted to build a small (14') fresh water fishing boat semi/shallow V hull out of .080" aluminum. If I could unfold one half of the hull to a flat pattern this would be a great tool!

Can this be done?

Hi there,

I too have tried this but the software does not seem to be able to "unfold" multiple direction "bends".
It looks as if it can only unfold a single axis bend.

you can slice the hull at specific lengths along the keel extract curves and use "measure" to get the curve/hull length at that location. etc.

best of luck.

I used to use and sell the Autopol software, I haven't come across anything it couldn't flatten, i also found this link as well.
