I'm trying to draw a post for a railing im doing. I forgot how to do it but I'm trying to make a swirl thing go down th post and wrap around. if you know what i mean.... any help?

Sounds like you need a Curves -> Helix combined with a Sweep.

yeah i thought i would need a sweep but i'm just not sure how to make the path for the sweep...

solidcreator dont forget to pierce the profile to your path be it helix or 3d curves splines etc. its important...

or you could extrude or revolve a simple profile, then use the FLEX command to twist your model.
