import DXF as ’’esquisse’’

I have a problem importing DXF to use it as design to extrude a shape ..
I give more details ..
lets say I create a square in front view
I use it to extrude and create a 3D object.
Now, I would like to import en DXF file, on one of the side to remove some stuff from the main piece.
My problem is that when I import on the DXF, while selecting a side, the DXF drawing never goes on the side but somewhere around..
How can I import this the way I need ?

I just tried this in SW2007 and it works fine. Do you know where the origin(0,0) on the .dxf file is? If the origin is somewhere off to the side, it could change where it appears.
