Curve Derived Patern

Hi, I'm new to the forum but I hope you can still help me.

I'm having problems with the Curve Derived Patern feature. I have a spiral cut in a part. Along this cut, I want to add a jiggle.

What I have done is, by using the same sketch for both, I have used extrude and cut-extrude to fill in the parts of the original cut that need to be filled and remove the material needed from the rest of the part. So far so good.

My problem appears when I try the Curve Patern, in which I use the spiral as the curve, I use the offset curve curve method and tangent to curve alignment, but I keep getting the error "this will create a zero thickness geometry". The vary sketch option cannot be checked, although I'm not sure why. Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help
