Does anyone know how to create a straight cylinder and then bend it into a helix? I want my final part to be a helix with "teeth" (for mating with a gear) cut into its OD and a tapered point at one end.
I know how to create a helical curve and then extrude a solid part out of it, but I don't know that I can make the appropriate cuts (for teeth and tapered point) into a helical part. The only way I can think to do it is to make the features in the straight cylinrical part, and then bend the whole thing into a helix. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Aaron
