hi all , i need to know how pcb design is converted in solidworks, well in solidedge i used pcb to 3d design software which was a add-on package, now want
to know in solidworks weather it is inbuilt or again i have to go for add-on package.

I have been doing bi-directional interfaces from Pro/E to UniCAD &
Cadence and back again for years. We even got to the stage of
re-writing the PCB end of the interface to allow placement of resist
and ground-plane area types which are not specified in the IDF standard.

I have evaluated the native ECAD functionality built into SW2005 and it
is nearly useless. If you are serious about it you will need to
purchase the add on module and hope that it is more useful.
