Animation Quality

Can anyone tell me why, when i record and animation in solidworks
(rendered or unrendered) the motion always seems jerky. I have tried
using different frame per second settings and it always seems jerky. I
have a 3D labs, Wilcat VP880 graphics card so it is not the performance
of that.

I don't think the graphics card comes into the equation for recording the animation. I too have had jumpy animations, but have not needed to persevere to get them perfect. And as you say the graphics card is not the problem - your cardwill beplaying back a jumpy recording of an animation, I believe.

Is the overall scene very complex, requiring a lot of memory to calculate the movement of (possibly many) parts? Have you been able to get a decent animation of a single part? Have you got support from a VAR to consult?

I think it has something to do with the way you mated the component. Try deleting all the mates and do it again.. If your mates are not right than the animation would be funny.....
