Bicycle Seat Model

Hi,

What would be the best way to model the seat supporting
base as say in link below at 0:45 (where the lower
bracket member that holds the rails sits):

Thought of swept blend but maybe boundary blend features?

I want to merge that sort of rectangular cross-section to
a circular one that goes into the seat tube in a curve -
I can do it in a straight line trajectory but not along a
curve and you can see that the sections are sort of
offset from each other; it doesn't seem you'll be able to
control it the way you like using SB.

Also, I have modelled a seat saddle using the
surface/merge quilts features. Half of the part was
defined and mirrored but where they meet at the mirror
plane isn't smooth enough - any hints?

I am using Pro-E/Creo 5.

Thanks.

regarding "from square to tube", use blend (dont forget the number of enteties) , or useboundaryblend (with controllpoints) .

If the surface at the mirrorplaneisn

ok, take a look at the upper picpic. If the curvethat the green arrows is pointing at is normal to the "green plane" , then the green surf (in the lower pic) would be possible to set normal to the green plane. (is it a 4 side BB or a sweep surfusing isdx perhaps? looks like a isdx surf...)

Lower pic = If the curve where the red arrow points is set to be normal to the red plane, then you should be able to create a cyan surf, thats normal to the red plane.

i would suggest your start a new thread in the modelling forum instead of changing the subject on this one! Try to start modelling curves and sweeps for you frame , and when you get stuck, throw out a question! It
