We use points to drive a curve to create an impeller vane. I know ProEngineer uses an equation to create the curve based on the point data. Does anyone know how to capture or view that equation?
Pro-E allows the creation
of a curve from equations. I do not think Pro-E can directly extract the
information from a curve created through points, although it maybe
possible using MathCAD with Pro-E. The length of a curve can certainly
be measured and assigned to a variable (
If you do not have MathCAD, what I would suggest trying is to export the
point data and import the point data into MS Excel. Use a trendline
(polynomial, power, exponential, etc.) to extract the equation of a
curve from the point data. Next, recreate the curve in Pro-E using the
curve from equation tool.
Thanks C_thompson, I'll try that.I never gave a thought to using excell. The point data is origonally created in excell so all the information is already there.
