Mechanism help = roll paper dispensing

Dear Friends,
This is my first post here. The forum has been helping me lot to improve in the last few years.
Thanks to everybody here

I am trying to apply mechanism constraints to the assembly that contains a printer and a roll paper. I just need to show the paper flowing path with the frictions applied to the model. I am not sure how to carry this forward. To make clearly understandable, the assenbly is similar to a adhesive tape dispenser and i need to animate the tape roll, rotating at its axis and also the the tape getting dispensed from the roll through the slot in the housing.

Waiting for a advice from soem experts in this subject.

Thanks in advance.

Ranjith

I did my Mechanical engineering and experienced so much intheoriticalandpractical. Even though I know how to design any product using Pro engineer, But when its comes to engineering analysis, I can tell you based on with my normal mathematics knowleadge, and natural engineering wisdom, I don't even need Pro engineer to answer these questions.

Do you want my general mode of analysis regarding this application. It is so simple!!. Our old time studieswere all pricious ones.No computerwas available on that time and we worked out by our own brains.

Thanks for the mail.

Actually, in the system, the paper flows over a guide and the gudie profile is critical since it creates more stress on the paper.

Also the guide profile in which the paper flows determines the smoothness of operation of the system and i am struck up in dertermining it theoretically, just thought if some application could help me out.

Thanks again for the reply

Dear Ranjit.

If you could just send me PM. You just draw a simplified 2D diagram or layout about your designconcepts and I will transform and distilled them and show you the possible share stress and bending moments for you. So I will mark the the forces and bending clearly on you diagram. Based on with that infomations you can feed through FEM and could modify you design to minimize the effects.

really???

people here in mcad do not work with bigmouths, they're silent because they're thinking.

. would you care giving us pictures of your "proe masterpiece"??? and your engineering wisdom????

Hi Ranjit. Have you solved your matter?.

I have the diagram, where I roughly sketch the roller andpaper roll and marked all the forces. Friction depending on your paper roll size. Pulling force depending on bearing type and friction between the papers.

Once you have feed these constraintsthen youcantune yourpulling forceby adjusting the guided tensioning rollers spring force.

Also before printing pad touch the printing paperwe need havea spring loaded rollerwhich willalign and stretch the paper and printer padmay not have effectedwith this stretchingforce. If you want I will post that to you.

Dear Ranjit,

I am going to havemy Pro/ Mechanica PTC training one week starting next month. If you want I can ask from PTCspecialists about your engineering design problems well.

If any onewould needa similartechnical design issues, please contact me. I will take all of that and try use their knowleadge to solve and it would give me more value to training and I could use my time very efficiently. I am paying for this training so that PTC would love to answer these real issues.
