otherwise you cannot see it anymore in wf3.0

Of course you can still set the "zero" position in WF3. You can do it from the assembly dashboard for the joint while you are creating it, or you can adjust it while in Mechanisms mode through the "Edit Definition" RMB pick. It will look something like this (WF4 version):

I'll have to check WF3 on a different computer since I only have WF2& WF4 loaded. I thought it was available in WF3. I'll check another engineer's install later and see. What build are you using of WF3?
