Start parts

I am trying to create a start part that I can write a mapkey to, that will step thru the parameters I designate, like material and drawn by and all that stuff. then save it as a new file while leaving the original file or template in tact. Where do I start?

Hi,

Place to start with might be just recording a mapkey with the normal
procedure of creating part files. Then that mapkey can be modified
accordingly e.g. waiting for user to enter part number using
@MANUAL_PAUSE.

I am using mapkeys to change some default parameters, prompting user
to select material and remaining parameters. For using a specific start
part, I am setting template_solidpart, template_sheetmetalpart &
template_designasm in config.pro.
