.ptc_unit report parameter

Anyone used this report parameter?

I'm taking another crack at adding units to a table, this seemed promising but it doesn't seem to output anything.

I'mhoping I have the format wrong or something

&asm.mbr.PRO_MP_MASS &asm.mbr.cparam.ptc_unit

This output the mass but the unit part doesn't show.

No-one knows how to use this report parameter?

I guess I ask tough questions

this is the 2nd one with no response....

I have never used this parameter in a parametric note. However, I would suggest that you try removing ".cparam" from your table entry (unit of measure are a part/assemblyparameter, not a component parameter).

OK i took another crack at this and finally got it to work.

This is what i found:

PTU_UNIT will only extract units for 'user-defiend parameters' so the PRO_MP_MASS cannot have it's units extracted.

So in each part I created a relation:

WEIGHT= PRO_MP_MASS

Note: before you create the above relation you must select the icon tothe make relationsand parameters units sensitive or it will not pick up the units from PRO_MP_MASS

thecorrect drawing tablereport parameter format is:

&asm.mbr.ptc_unit.WEIGHT

Now my table has units that update from the part.

Iwas hoping not to have to create the extra parameter but that seems to be my only option.

Can this approach be used to add a units column to BOMs created by:

Info>Bill of Materials

How would I add this to the bom format file.
