How to place a pattern within a fam table

I have a generic part that has a pattern of 4 tapped holes. This will be a feature of some parts that I have within a family table. When I add this feature to the family table it appears to work fine. There are no errors when I verify the instances. However, when I open an instance with the pattern it is not there. It does not show up in the model tree at all. Any ideas?

Feature HSING_CO is set to NO in the table. Your bolt pattern depends on that feature.

Set to YES, then verify it. Some instances fail, some don't.

I don't see that. It appears to me to be dependant on OS_CUTOUT. When I changed HSING_CO to yes the part failed. I used the last instance in the family table.
