trouble opening up an IGES file

Hi

I have a igs file which contains the geometric coordinate
of an airfoil. I am trying to open it in ProE using the
'insert >Datum > curve > from file ' command. However,
it does not seem to work, because nothing shows up on
the screen, except that a screen a log message pops up.

My goal is to create a surface of the airfoil shape from this igs file, and export it as a new iges file, so that it could be opened up as a database file in a grid generation program called Gridgen.

Please Help.

You cannot insert pieces of geometry from an IGES file into a file.

Import the entire file into a new part file, then import the pieces into your existing file.
