i cannot quite figure out how to sketch a square to round, cannot find a tutorial on this particular topic.

thank you

I'm not 100% sure what you want to do, but have you considered a VSS and then a sheet metal conversion?

A normal blend would work just fine.

Start the blend feature. Sketch a square. Add four fillets to the corners. Your sketch will now have 8 entities.

Right click on the screen, and select toggle section. You could use copy/paste functionality in WF3 to copy section, and paste the same section after the toggle section. Otherwise sketch the same profile again.

Now, increase the size of the fillets so that the straight edges of the square becomes very small. This will make the section look like a circle.

If you complete the feature, you will even be able to flatten this square to round in sheetmetal.

The easiest way is to use a blend.

...Insert...Blend....Thin Protrusion...Done....Done....

Sketch squarefor the top or bottom.

Right click to Toggle Selection....

Sketch a circle, then place 2 centrelines in the form of a cross....

Then use DIVIDE AN ENTITY AT THE POINT OF SELECTION.

(Its on the trim pop out in sketcher)

If you have chosen create a thin blend, you will be asked for a thickness and then thedepth of the protusion.

That object can be created in sheetmetal mode as well. Then just create a cut and unbend all.
