hi all hope everyone is ok :)

for some strange reason my computer is having a mind of its own and doing what
it pleases. so i decided to throw it out the window and make a new one.

the new one will be used for CAD (solidworks, autocad 2007, pro/e wildfire 2 +
3, Catia)

also be using FEA and other known CAD packages.

currently i have a 15" TFT with about 15ms lol, and a P4 2.6 and about
512MB of ram, lol don

Considering the cost of the other components, I'd put in a Quadro graphics card. An FX 1500 is around $500 IIRC and is worth the extra salt, especially down the road.

A Nvidia Quadro card with a minimum of 256MB / 512MBshould be last you quite a long way. I have tested the card and it is wanderful.

Hello,

I to recommend a nvidia quadro or ati equivalent, I had no end of problems with large assemblysuntil I got a cetrified graphics card.

Cheers

There's an article next month in our local PC-Magazine where they will build workstations with "normal" components. I'll keep you informed when it's interesting.
