To speed our development process overall, I want develop, document and implement an effective mechanical assembly interference check procedure into our design process that will help us reduce alignment and fit errors during our prototype builds.
We don't do much of this now, but one of our designer draftsmen showed me a report that he ran on our latest design effort, basically 3 or 4 pages of two columns of PNs and a third with very cryptic dimensional/error volume(?) information. Suffice to say that IMHO, the report needs work. Anybody reworked the report for actual use? How do you configure it? Not looking for rocket science, just a "Hey folks, shaft X isn't going to fit in bearing Y" sort of a deal. The 'low-hanging-fruit' if you will.
