Replace a part

Rajamanickam_ps,

The absolute simplest way to replace a part is to use a family table part. Otherwise meaning, if the part you're using as the replacement is in the same family table as the original part, using the technique sureshdesigns pointed out becomes amazingly simple. Simply choose "Family Table" in the Replace Comp dialog box that pops up when you choose "Replace", and then select the model. It will be replaced using the original constraints.

So it's a few mouse clicks and you're finished.

As verge says, if the part is a member of a family table that's the easiest and fastest method.

If it isn't a family member then choose replace "by layout", this preserves the assembly references. You will be prompted to select the corresponding component references. Works for assemblies too.
