Convert Sheetmetal to Solid

telecomguy

New member
Probably not the most common thing to do, but I've got a model I started as sheetmetal due to the predominant feature being a common thickness and needing some bend type features. But now I need to add features that sheetmetal won't allow.

How do I convert this model to a solid? Will it create a feature in the model tree so I cansuppress back and see flat patterns of the 'sheetmetal' portion?

Thanks,

To my knowledge, once you create a sheetmetal feature
you're stuck with the sheetmetal environment.

Grasping for a straw other than starting over; use a
pre - flat pattern solid surfs copy as the basis for
continuation in a new part.

Thanks Jeff. I was figuring it would require importing into another part in one way or another. Not my preferred way of doing things, but I guess it's better than starting from scratch.

Thanks for the feedback, and Merry Christmas,
