Creating Variable Datum to place part

warmwinds

New member
I amtrying to place twoparts (within a larger assembly) that will have a variable angle between them. My method is to create a datum that will have a variable orientation based on a distance measurementmade using the analysis feature. I canright mouse click on the newly created analysis and see the correct distance. I would now like to create a trigonometry relation (acos) on thisdistance to calculate an angle and use this angle in the datum placement. Has anyone ever tried this?

you refer to the parameters created by analysis by their full name in relations

param name:fid_analysis name

distance:fid_analysis1

there are a number result params that don't get created you may find the of use, you need to Edit Definition to get there

if you create a model param from them, you can display value on the model tree or as a value in a drawing table
