Rip not showing up in flat drawing

I've got a regular rip that I've unbent (to create a tab). When I create a drawing of the flat pattern the rip line doesn't show up (unless I show phantom lines).

I need a clean flat pattern for our laser without any extra garbage on it.

Am I missing something? I can't see how to make it show up. The laser needs a single line (i.e. no modeled kerf). It seems to me that a rip should show up, but its not.

Thanks!

hi

It true the rip does not show in the flat pattern. If you think about it why should it? When the material is in the flat state the rip has not been made. The rip only occurs when the bend is made and the material 'Rips' to allow this. If you want to put the feature in to the flat pattern you will need to use releif obround or rectangle and make the feature as thin as your laser cutter will allow!
