Xsection in Assembly Models

I was wondering if there's an easy way to section an assemblyin model viewwhile excluding select parts and sub-assemblies. I thought it was done using Xsec Modify/Hatching/Mod XHatch/Excl Comp but that only seems to get rid of the hatching while preserving the cut. Any help would be appreciated.

Try to update the view.

Try to make an assembly cut, and exclude the components you want to from the cut. Show this in a view, Use fam table to remove the cut where not needed.
